Piers Morgan clears his GMB office but leaves one thing behind

It really is all over for Piers Morgan at Good Morning Britain as he clears out his office.

The presenter left his highly-paid and high-profile role on the ITV morning show in the wake of comments about Meghan Markle and her interview with Oprah Winfrey.

They proved massively controversial - especially with Bristol's Alex Beresford who challenged Piers on air, prompting the famous Morgan walk off.

But now it appears as if Piers has returned to the GMB studios, if only to clear his office - leaving one thing behind, a cut-out of his former co-host Susanna Reid.

In a tweet posted on his account, Piers wrote: "Goodbye, Good Morning Britain! (I think I’ll leave the cardboard cut-out, would be a bit creepy to take that home... )"

Piers' comments on Meghan - who make claims about her treatment at the hands of the Royal Family and the media - prompted more than 41,000 complaints to TV watchdog Ofcom.

It launched an investigation into comments made by Piers about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which Meghan talked about her mental health.

However, a petition to get Piers back on GMB has also attracted support from hundreds of thousands of people.

Bristol-born weatherman Alex Beresford had defended Meghan and empathised with her experience of racism, during a heartfelt outburst on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday, March 9.

Piers had questioned the truth of what Meghan had said and while he later clarified his comments, it is understood he refused to make a full on-air apology.

Since leaving GMB, he has not rowed back on his comments, continuing to question Meghan's account of life with the Royal Family.
