Piers Morgan clashes with son after he says dad is only one who wants 'bulls***' lockdown

Piers Morgan clashed with his son on Twitter after Spencer said that his dad is the only one who wants lockdown.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed reports that England would return to lockdown from midnight on Thursday.

Addressing viewers from Downing Street, the prime minister revealed that pubs, bars, restaurants, gyms, hairdressers, beauty parlors and non-essential shops would be forced to close for a month.

Schools and universities will stay open for the duration of lockdown.

Sharing a YouGov poll claiming that 72% of people were in favour of the Prime Minister's plan to return to lockdown, Spencer tweeted that it was "such BS".

He wrote: "Haha. Such BS. Literally not met a person who wants it apart from dad."

But Piers was clearly not too happy with his son's comment and quickly hit back.

He fumed: "Nobody WANTS a lockdown. But most people, as this poll shows, believe one is now essential to control the virus & save lives.

"You shouldn’t judge the popularity of your own view on what Twitter says... it’s invariably wrong about absolutely everything."

Piers returned to Good Morning Britain today after a two-week break and vented his frustration alongside co-star Susanna Reid.

Last week, a fan had probed him about where he was, to which he replied: "Been promoting my book Paul, but we're back every day next week in a rare 5-day treat for the nation."
