Piers Morgan claims Meghan and Harry only gave interview to Oprah so they'd get easy ride

Piers Morgan never holds back when taking aim at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

And the Good Morning Britain presenter, 55, has been fuming since the couple decided to sit down with American TV icon Oprah Winfrey to share on their departure from the Royal family and choice to relocate to the US.

In his latest rant about the pair, the former newspaper editor took to Twitter to claim that Harry and former Suits actress Meghan opted to do the tell-all with Oprah as they wanted to "get an easy time".

Piers claims that he would "love" to interview the Duke and Duchess of Sussex but believes they only let their friends speak to them so that the questions aren't tough.

The ITV star revealed his theory after a Twitter user messaged him about his bitter nature towards Harry and Meghan, on Monday.

A social media user typed to Piers: "Let’s get one thing absolutely clear @piersmorgan main problem with Harry and Meghan is that he didn’t get the interview."

Firing back, Piers penned: "Oh, I would love an interview with them... but it will never happen because they only give them to their friends so they get an easy time."

It is not the first time that Piers has blasted Harry and Meghan for taking part in an interview with Oprah - which will air on CBS on March 7 - as he compared the husband and wife to dictator Kim Jong-Un on Monday's GMB.

On the latest instalment of the early morning news show, a clip of the Duke and Duchess speaking to Oprah was aired with Harry saying that he feared "history was repeating itself" prior to them leaving the UK.

Responding to the clip, Piers' co-host Susanna Reid remarked: "It's quite remarkable, isn't it."

Piers quickly went on to blast Harry for hitting out at the media coverage turning "toxic".

"They only want positive media coverage," Piers fumed, before comparing them to Kim Jong-Un and Vladimir Putin, leaving Susanna stunned.

In the teaser clip of the upcoming interview, Prince Harry appeared to reference his mum, Princess Diana, saying: "I'm just really relieved and happy to be sitting here talking to you with my wife by my side.

"Because I can't imagine what it must have been like for her (Diana), going through this process by herself all those years ago.

"It's been unbelievably tough for the two of us, but at least we had each other."

Reacting to his comments, Piers fumed: "There is no comparison between the media attention Meghan got to Diana."

It was recently revealed that Harry and Meghan will take part in a 90-minute chat that will have "nothing off-limits".

CBS said in a statement: "Winfrey will speak with Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, in a wide-ranging interview, covering everything from stepping into life as a Royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work to how she is handling life under intense public pressure.

"Later, the two are joined by Prince Harry as they speak about their move to the United States and their future hopes and dreams for their expanding family."

Chat show host Oprah is a neighbour of Meghan and Harry in California and she was a guest at their 2018 wedding at Windsor Castle.
