Piers Morgan claims he's been 'deleted' by Good Morning Britain after awards reveal

Piers Morgan claims he's been 'deleted' by Good Morning Britain after there was no reference to him in the ITV show's National Television Awards nomination.

Piers infamously walked off GMB a few months ago, following a spat with colleague Alex Beresford over Meghan Markle, before quitting the show just a few hours later.

Since then his vacant presenter's chair has been filled by the likes of Ben Shephard, Adil Ray and guest hosts like Alastair Campbell and Bill Turnbull, but bosses are still to confirm just who will be Piers' full time replacement.

On Tuesday, the daytime programme received news it was on the longlist for the NTAs in the Daytime category, with a picture of Piers' former presenting partner in crime Susanna Reid together with Adil used to illustrate its nomination.

Piers himself is up for the Presenter and Factual accolades, the latter for his ITV series Life Stories but also took credit for GMB's nomination, although he couldn't resist having a dig about the fact he was nowhere to be seen.

The outspoken star tweeted: "Delighted to have been long-listed in three categories at the National TV Awards (even if I’ve been deleted from the last one.

"I’ve got no chance of winning, obviously, but voting for me would really irritate the usual winners: So feel free."

Reacting to Piers' thinly vailed jab at his former workplace, one fan replied: "I hope @GMB with @susannareid100 going up to collect it with her false smile don’t win means they stabbed you in the back, lets have you back on tv in the mornings piers take the rest of their viewers off them, the few that are left anyway."

Another reacted: "That's me voted for ya But I voted for Lorraine on the last one @gmb didn't deserve my last vote because of the way you were treated Good luck"

However, reminding Piers of how he cut ties with GMB, another posted: "If by deleted you mean walked away of your own will in a mood, then yes."
