Piers Morgan claims he's been asked about Good Morning Britain return as he 'regrets' outburst

Piers Morgan has claimed a 'third party' has approached him about returning to Good Morning Britain.

The TV presenter controversially quit the ITV's flagship breakfast show after comments he made about the Duchess of Sussex back in March.

The 56-year-old has now claimed a third party has contacted about him returning to GMB, with the show reportedly seeing a sharp drop in numbers since his dramatic exit.

He told The Sun: "I have had some quite random third-party feelers put out to see if I would consider a return to the show.

“I don’t want to say on the record who, but a pretty close third-party."

The TV star also spoke to the newspaper about his 'regret' over his departure, which saw him storm out of the studio live on air following a row with weatherman Alex Beresford.

He said: "I shouldn't have walked off, though, I do regret that. You can't be the great crusader of free speech and then walk off when someone says something you don't like."

However, he added that he would only "seriously consider" returning to Good Morning Britain under special circumstances.

He added that a 'certain weatherman' wouldn't be around if he was to make his comeback to the show.

Piers said he did not believe what Meghan, Duchess of Sussex said during her headline-making interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The duchess said she was ignored when raising concerns about her mental health and that racist comments had been made before the birth of her son, Archie.

It later emerged Meghan made a formal complaint to ITV about Piers.
