Angry viewers demanded Piers Morgan should be sacked for having a pint on Good Morning Britain after 6am.
TV bosses surprised the Good Morning Britain presenter, 55, with a beer on Wednesday's morning breakfast show as British pubs prepare to reopen on July 4.
In a foul-mouthed tirade, Piers lashed out at "k****" trolls calling for him to be sacked over enjoying a sip of a Harvey’s beer at work in the TV studios.
He said on Instagram : "Now some of the k**** have gone over from Twitter and are now on Instagram.
"Well Rick, you have been blocked. I now need another follower to make up for Rick. So follow me!"
Among the trolls, one wrote: "Drink alcohol while working is against health and safety. Piers Morgan should know that. Sack him now."
Piers was gifted with a beer while news correspondent Jonathan Swain was on the ground reporting live from a pub about the return to the "new normal" as lockdown eases.
He said: "Where did that come from!?
"Swainy, I'm very Jealous ... I'll be having a couple of pints on Saturday."
On a serious note, Piers urged viewers to be careful on "super Saturday" as pubs reopen for the first time after being closed throughout lockdown.
He said: "We all want to have fun but please give the police a break, they need us to help them, we are all in this together."
Susanna Reid was less than impressed with Piers for having a beer as she exclaimed it was 6.30 in the morning.
She said: "It's 6.30am in the morning kids."
But this didn't bother Piers.
The GMB star was so happy with his beer he shared a series of photos on his Instagram during the show.
He wrote: "BOOM! First pint of Harvey’s in 4 months! Who cares it’s only 6.42am... and I’ve got 2 more hours of live TV.."
