Piers Morgan has called James Acaster a “pasty-faced weasel” after the comedian told Lorraine Kelly to “go f*** yourself”.

Acaster’s comment came during The Last Leg’s New Year’s Eve special, when Kelly named Morgan as her hero of the year, justifying it for the moment that Boris Johnson hid in a fridge rather than be interviewed by Morgan.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain on Monday (4 January), Morgan said: “I don’t know who that little pasty-faced weasel is swearing at queen Lorraine like that.

“What’s his name? James Acaster. Apparently, he’s a comedian. I thought a prerequisite of being a comedian was you had to be funny?”

Explaining that Acaster was now on “the list”, Morgan continued: “I always strike back when the subjects of those kind of attacks, random attacks where I’ve done nothing to upset these people.

“I put them on a list and then I just bide my time. Sometimes it can be years, decades in some cases. And then when they least want me to, that’s when I strike back.”

Acaster initially justified his disgust for Morgan by comparing the controversial presenter to comic-book villain Lex Luthor.

“You don’t get to stop being a villain for two seconds and now you’re a hero,” Acaster told Kelly.

“You don’t watch Superman and all the way through Lex Luthor’s killing everyone, then at one point he’s nice to an old lady and everyone goes, ‘Well done Lex, screw you Superman.’”
