Piers Morgan calls for Meghan and Harry to lose Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles

Piers Morgan has called for Harry and Meghan to lose their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles to complete "divorce" from the UK.

Responding to the news that the couple had paid back £2.4million for Frogmore Cottage after signing a £112million megadeal with Netflix, Piers conceded it was a "step in the right direction".

"Good to see Harry and Meghan paying back the Frogmore Cottage bill," he said. "I think that's another step towards the divorce."

"They're got a lot of money from Netflix, haven't they?" Susanna said.

"It's Netflix what won it," Piers quipped. "I think what they should do - and this is a little debate to be thrown up. But if they really want to be independent, it seems they do, they want to live in Hollywood or Santa Barbara and wanna make woke movies or TV shows and make us feel lovely and fluffy about everything, that's fine.

"I just don't think, as a Sussex resident all my life, I don't think they should be allowed to keep the titles Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

"A) They never go to Sussex and B) If they really want to leave the royal family, why would you even want the titles?

"Except the titles are what is attractive to commercial pertners."

However Susanna questioned whether it was themselves that was attractive to commercial partners.

"So they can survive and thrive without their royal titles," Susanna added.

But Piers said: "You think if he wasn't Prince Harry and she was still Meghan from Suits that Netflix would have given them £100million."

He later added: "It's like having a divorce and saying, 'I want to pop back home every week'. That's not how it works."
