Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan slammed the fact the country is relying on China for equipment to deal with coronavirus.
The deadly virus is thought to have originated in Wuhan, and PPE such as masks and gloves is now being bought from China.
"The fact that we are so reliant on China now, the country where this started, for all our PPE equipment, because apparently they're the only ones who make it to this standard and the right numbers, where we can afford it.
"It just really grates with me."

He added that China has "ultimate culpability" for the virus due to its wet markers where live animals are sold and butchered, which is where the virus is thought to have first transferred to a human.
Piers slammed their "appalling hygiene standards" and predicted there would be a "day of reckoning" for China.
He argued that people will be thinking: "This started in China, it spreads around the world, China being an authoritarian state managed to lock it all down in their own country, now they're able to open it all up again."

He added: "China is now back in business and picking up all sorts of bargains all around the world from the economic damage caused by a virus that came from China."
He maintained he was not criticising Chinese people, but the fact that the country was now able to profit off the virus after recovering from it.
"Where is going to be the accountability that these wet markets are allowed to continue?

"Given that so many of these viruses have begun in China."
Speaking to Dr Hilary, Piers called for a specific NHS tax in the future to help the health service deal better with crises and pandemics to come.
Dr Hilary explained that Germany spends much more on healthcare and had "four times as many ITU beds".
"We run the NHS on a shoestring," said Dr Hilary, alluding to public health cuts.
"We do have to invest a lot more in the NHS," argued Piers.
"I do believe there should be a separate tax for the NHS."
"Me too," agreed Dr Hilary.
"We are gong to have to pump billions and billions into the NHS... to be better prepared," concluded Piers, noting another pandemic will happen one day.
