Piers Morgan breaks silence after Twitter 'hack' to slam Prince Harry after series of TV interviews

Piers Morgan has remained unusually quiet after his Twitter was reportedly hacked last month. But he has now broken his silence to react to Prince Harry's round of interviews in both the UK and the US ahead of the release of his memoir.

Late last month, Piers' account on the social media platform appeared to have been shut down after he reportedly shared posts containing false information, racial slurs and abusive messages directed at the late Queen and singer Ed Sheeran. The tweets were swiftly deleted, however, the former Good Morning Britain star didn't return to use his restored account.

However, on Sunday night, Piers couldn't hold back in his savage criticism of the Duke of Sussex as his interview with Tom Bradby aired on ITV. In his first sit-down interview, Prince Harry spoke to the journalist and broadcaster, who he has known for more than 20 years, about the contents of his autobiography.

Days before his memoir, titled Spare, is published, Tom gave Harry a grilling over his claims about the royal family made in the book in a sit-down interview with the "most talked about man in the planet." But the 38-year-old's interview with Tom was quickly followed up with a stateside chat with Anderson Cooper on CBS News.

Two more interviews, both conducted across the pond, are also set to be released. Taking to Twitter following the first programme, TalkTV star Piers, 57, tweeted: "Never seen an unhappier ‘happy man’ in my life."

He went on to slam Prince Harry as "bitter" and accused him of "family-trashing" as well as "exposing & exploiting the Royals’ most personal secrets for gazillions whilst wanging on with jaw-dropping hypocrisy about media intrusion." Finishing his Twitter rant, Piers fumed: "He’s pathetic."

Piers' GMB predecessor Richard Madeley has also hit out at Prince Harry after he denied accusing the Royal Family of racism. During their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, Harry and his wife Meghan Markle opened up about their time as senior working royals and alleged that an unnamed person within the royal household had 'concerns and conversations' about how 'dark' the skin of their son Archie would be.

However, during his sit-down interview with ITV anchor Tom, Prince Harry has said they never made a racism accusation. After the 38-year-old was asked to elaborate on the Oprah interview in which ‘you accused members of your family of racism’, Harry replied: replied: "There was – there was concern about his skin colour."

He was then asked: "Wouldn’t you describe that as essentially racist?" But Prince Harry later responded: "I wouldn't, not having lived within that family." During Monday’s Good Morning Britain, Richard furiously questioned why the shocking claim wasn’t 'corrected' sooner.

"If we misunderstood it and it was the front page story in the world, why didn’t they correct it?" the former This Morning host said. "Why didn’t Harry or Meghan say at some point on one of their podcasts or one of the opportunities that they’ve had and say “by the way, we didn’t mean it the way you guys took it, we weren’t accusing the family of racism."
