Piers Morgan brands David Beckham 'weird' for kissing daughter Harper on the lips

Piers Morgan has branded David Beckham "creepy" and "weird" for a second time for kissing his daughter Harper on the lips in an Instagram post.

The former Manchester United footballer this week shared a video of himself and the seven-year-old enjoying a family holiday.

But the Good Morning Britain host slated the sweet moment between father and daughter, claiming that it's "weird" and "no one does it".

Just like the first time round, his opinion has created a debate as to whether it is wrong to kiss your children on the lips.

Speaking on Tuesday's edition of the ITV show Piers declared: "So he's posted this picture, yeah it’s very sweet.

"[But] why would a father kiss his daughter on the lips? Don't get it - creepy. Weird. No-one does that. Who does that? Then you post that for the world - you posted that for the world, why?"

The 56-year-old's co-host Susanna Reid was quick to defend the footie ace telling Piers she too kisses her sons on the lips.

She said: "Aww, they love each other. Well the interesting thing is he came in for a lot of criticism when he posted a video like that a couple of years ago and he's obviously just doubled down and thought, 'well that's what I do'.

"It's what I do."

But Piers wasn't convinced, adding to the camera: "Weird, Weird, weird, it's just weird."

David's first picture last Christmas also sparked a similar debate (David Beckham Instagram)

Becks has previously addressed criticism for kissing Harper and insisted in a Facebook Live in 2017: "I kiss all my kids on the lips.

"Brooklyn, maybe not. Brooklyn’s 18, he might find that a little bit strange.

"I'm very affectionate with the kids. It's how I was brought up and Victoria, and it's how we are with our children."

He added: "We want to show our kids love and we protect them, look after them, and support them, and you know, we're very affectionate with them."

The big question is, is it really that bad? Is it just dependent on individual parenting styles?
