Piers Morgan brands Beverley Turner 'pathetic' after she said she won't clap for Captain Tom Moore

Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan branded Beverley Turner 'pathetic' in a Twitter row after she said she wouldn't be clapping for Captain Sir Tom Moore.

Beverley, a British TV and radio presenter, decided not to join in with the 6pm 'national clap' in tribute to the veteran, who died of coronavirus this week.

Her move has since been described as "pathetic" by Piers who appears to have since blocked her on Twitter, the Mirror reports.

Beverley tweeted: "#SirTomMoore and his family did a brilliant job of raising £ for the NHS.

"It's great that he lived to 100! It's awesome that he got one last fab holiday.

"But I'm not clapping in the St to maintain the fear that imminent death is all around & we're all in this together. We're not."

Piers Morgan shared the tweet and added: "This is so pathetic."

Beverley then shared that Piers had blocked her.

She tweeted: "Must have touched a nerve as been blocked by @piersmorgan.

"I don't think he liked the fact that it seems - by many of your reactions- that I wasn't completely wrong...

"And he does not like to be wrong.

"Maybe he's manipulating you all too? Just a thought...."

Earlier in the night Piers had shared that he had joined in with clapping for Captain Tom outside his home in West London.

Piers tweeted: "Lots of clapping in my part of West London. Great to hear.

"Thanks for everything, Captain Tom."
