Piers Morgan branded 'hypocrite' for heading to local café on Super Saturday

Piers Morgan has been branded a 'hypocrite' for heading to his local café on Super Saturday.

The controversial Good Morning Britain host, 55, took to his Instagram account to share a picture of himself enjoying a cup of coffee at Cafe Phillies in Kensington, London, on the day restaurants and pubs and bars were allowed to reopen.

But his followers were less than impressed with the post, with many pointing out that Piers had spent the majority of the coronavirus pandemic criticising the government for not enforcing stricter rules.

This appeared to be furthest thing from his mind though as Piers beamed for the camera as she held up his coffee cup.

He captioned the post: "Finally back in my second office! It's been a long 4 months... never has a coffee tasted better. @cafephillieslondon."

His followers rushed to comment on the photo, with some criticising him.

One posted: "Why you doing this ?! I thought you care about 60000 that died Mr Morgan !! Enjoy your coffee but I just don't understand ...you change like weather...[sic]"

Mirror Online has contacted Piers's reps for comment.

Others were far more complimentary, with one writing: "Enjoy Piers ... thank you for speaking up for most of us, much appreciated."
