Piers Morgan 'blocks' Lydia Bright's mum after she complains about his negativity

Piers Morgan has taken the plunge and 'blocked' Lydia Bright's mum Debbie after she complained about his negativity surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.

The outspoken Good Morning Britain presenter, 55, decided that enough was enough before cutting ties - albeit loose ones - from the TOWIE star's mum.

Taking to Twitter today, he wrote: "I’ve had to block her [Debbie] now, she was being too negative about me..."

The fiery exchange kicked off after one Twitter user penned: "Can’t deal with Piers Morgan anymore.

"Started well asking some important questions now all he wanna do is bring people in, interrupt them and try to embarrass them and be negative."

The tweet concluded: "He's lost the plot . Someone from his household give him a big cuddle and tell him to relax."

Mum-of-five Debbie then went on to agree with the tweet, saying: "I said the same yesterday...I truly cannot deal with his negativity everyday.

"Life is difficult enough we all need to be uplifted not constantly put into low moods."

And the final straw for her was earlier this week when she told fans she was left with no choice but to switch from GMB to BBC Breakfast as a result of Piers' "constant negativity".

She said: "Switched from @GMB to @BBCBreakfast. I just cannot stand the constant negativity in such difficult times. STOP."

The presenter replied: "Why do you follow me then? If you want constant uplifting positivity as 60,000 have died from Govt negligence, go follow a Love Islander or something."

It comes as Piers revealed that he is now banned from from attending the daily Government briefings on the pandemic.

The briefings are held at Downing Street every day, and journalists from a wide range of publications are able to dial in and ask questions virtually.

Piers has been consistently critical of Prime Minister  Boris Johnson  and the cabinet's handling of the crisis.
