Piers Morgan blasts 'offensive' Little Britain as it's pulled from Netflix in anti-racism move

Piers Morgan has deemed Little Britain 'offensive' after the comedy series was removed from a host of streaming services over its use of black face.

Netflix, Britbox and BBC iPlayer have now all pulled the show, with a BBC spokesperson saying: "There's a lot of historical programming available on BBC iPlayer which we regularly review.

"Times have changed since Little Britain first aired, so it is not currently available on BBC iPlayer."

Piers reacted to the news on Wednesday's Good Morning Britain, where clips of both Little Britain and Come Fly With Me were also shown, saying he had never been a fan of the Matt Lucas and David Walliams programmes.

He said: "‘Looking at that footage it is offensive and times move.

"I can’t remember how I felt at the time but I’ve never been a fan of Little Britain. I can’t remember how I felt at the time but this is the 2000s we’re talking about.."

Black Studies Professor, Kehinde Andrews added: ‘There’s nothing more offensive in popular culture than blackface. ‘I remember at the time being appalled by this.

"It’s not like Little Britain aired in the 50s or 60s it was 2003. It just shows you how badly misunderstood and how bad the representation is, it should never have been put up. It certainly shouldn’t have been put on iPlayer.’
