Piers Morgan 'arrested' by Rod Stewart's wife Penny Lancaster as trio party together

Piers Morgan had an eventful night as he partied with Rod Stewart and wife Penny Lancaster, who jokingly arrested him.

The trio were together for The Sun's Who Cares Wins award in London's Roundhouse on Tuesday, before it was announced he will return to the paper as a columnist.

As the group drank and laughed the night away, Penny used her power as a Special Constable to flash her badge to 'arrest' Morgan.

Piers shared a photo of the trio where Penny can be seen flashing her badge, as Piers captioned it: "You're nicked, Morgan."

The former Good Morning Britain presenter added: "Not easy going on the lash with Rod Stewart these days – his fabulous wife Penny is now (very admirably) a special constable with the City of London Police, and carries her warrant card around with her to bring an immediate halt to any excessive partying…"

Penny got her badge as a Special Constable in April of this year after announcing her plans in June 2020 to join the City of London's police force.

It comes after she was inspired by her stint on Channel 4's Famous and Fighting Crime in 2019.

Penny previously told her Instagram followers about her role on the show: ‘It was terrifying, terrifying, but I never felt more comfortable in a position and I felt like this was where I was supposed to be.’

Piers Morgan is revelling in success after quitting Good Morning Britain in March following complaints over Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

Since stepping down, he has gone onto sign a deal with News UK where he will launch a new show in 2022 to air in the UK, US and Australia as well as becoming a columnist for The Sun and New York Post.
