Piers Morgan admitted 'things were tense' between him and Susanna Reid on Tuesday's Good Morning Britain after a viewer told him it looked like she 'wanted to kill him.'
The long serving presenting duo are well into their stride on their second week back at the helm of the ITV show, following their half term break. but fans noticed things were far from rosy between the pair.
After Piers and Susanna clashed over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle a day earlier, with Susanna accusing her outspoken co-host of 'constantly bashing;' the couple, viewers picked up on tension on Tuesday as the topic of their Oprah Winfrey interview came up.
Piers argued that Harry and Meghan's much hyped chat should be pulled off air as Prince Phillip undergoes treatment in hospital.
He branded the interview "crass beyond belief”, after the 99-year-old Duke of Edinburgh was transferred to another hospital on Monday to be treated for an infection.
Piers blasted: "Is he going to allow his whining about what a tough life he has from his LA Mansion to go out on prime time TV on Sunday night?"
Susanna replied: "Well I don't I would describe it as whining, as you know, but I do think the timing of it is very difficult."
As Piers continued his rant, Susanna told him: "You've got such a negative filter about them. You're obsessed with them."
Reacting to what they were watching, one viewer tweeted: "Susanna has snapped, Piers ranting about Harry and Meghan again," and another posted: "Her patience & professionalism shines bright..thank the tv Gods she's there!"
Tweeting both Piers and Susanna, athlete Kirsty Law wrote: "@susannareid100 literally looks like she wants to kill @piersmorgan," and picking up on the tweet, he told his 7.7 million followers: "It’s tense in here today."
Urging Piers to 'get over' Harry and Meghan, one told him: "Oh come on @piersmorgan why oh why do you have to keep going on about Harry and Meghan, how about you discuss our children going back to school, the secondary and higher education students taking the lateral tests can we get some more information on how reliable these tests are ?"
But. siding with him, one fan responded: "Personally I don’t care what Harry & Megan do or say - but why does Susanna defend them blindly ? She is losing respect by the second"
