Piers Morgan accused of 'scaremongering' over coronavirus pandemic by Mario Falcone

Piers Morgan has been accused of "scaremongering" by celebrities including Mario Falcone.

The Good Morning Britain host has been very active on Twitter, posting about the latest death tolls and rate of infection, holding the government to account for both.

But former TOWIE star Mario said Piers had been posting negative stories just to "scare" his followers, and he was joined by Love Island's Nathan Massey who said the same.

But Piers savagely told Mirror Online: "I have no idea who these people are."

It started on Wednesday when Piers tweeted: "UPDATE: UK # coronavirus death toll spiked by 412 yesterday, not 209 as earlier reported.

"This is nearly four times higher than yesterday & significantly higher than the same day last week. Why?"

Mario pointed out that the jump in the death toll is usually due to it being a weekend.

He tweeted: "And people listen to this piece of s***? Knows full well there is a lag over the bank holiday but still posts this to scare you all.

"What an oxygen thief!"

Mario then shared that he had been blocked by Piers.

He added: "So you call this man out for his scaremongering and he blocks you! I do believe people are starting to see right through him.

"He is nothing but a self obsessed coward. Do not listen to a word he says!"

Mario continued: "At first he was brilliant and helping the NHS… now he is more focused on bringing down the government and scaring the public.

"Never reports days when deaths are low but does when they are higher, even when he knows it's a bank holiday weekend lag."

He was retweeted by Nathan, who added: "Used to love Piers gone right off him after his out bursts, we are at war what ever way you look at it.

"We need to stick together in a epidemic like this (like they did in WW), not scaremonger the pubic into hating our leader.

"That’s helping no 1 [sic]."
