Piers Corbyn arrested over anti-vaccine 'Auschwitz' leaflets

Anti-vaccine campaigner Piers Corbyn has been arrested in connection with leaflets allegedly comparing the vaccination project to Auschwitz concentration camp.

Leaflets were posted through doors in Southwark this weekend.

Mr Corbyn, brother of the former Labour leader Jeremy, told The Mirror that he was arrested yesterday and said he offered a 'full rebuttal' to police.

He said he agreed to go to the police station to answer questions yesterday and says he was arrested after arriving.

He said: "I gave them a full rebuttal. They have not made any charges."

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "A 73-year-old man was arrested in Southwark on Wednesday, 3 February on suspicion of malicious communications and public nuisance.”

Another 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence.

The spokesman added: "Both men were taken to a south London police station. They have since been bailed to return on a date in early March.

"The leaflet contained material that appeared to compare the Covid-19 vaccination programme with the Holocaust.”
