Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang tipped for Arsenal exit after what happened with Kieran Tierney

Jack Wilshere may have surprised a few Arsenal fans with his admission about the fastest player at the club.

During the international break, it was announced that the 29-year-old is back training with the Gunners in order to maintain his fitness levels in the hope of finding a new club as well as doing his coaching badges.

And the midfielder has treated supporters to an insight into what goes on at London Colney under manager Mikel Arteta's watchful eye.

One of which is revealing that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, known for his electric speed, is not the quickest player in the Arsenal first-team as it's Kieran Tierney who holds that particular title.

"We were doing a sprint test today," Wilshere said. "I asked the fitness guy ‘who is the fastest player, is it Aubameyang’ and he said ‘no it’s Kieran Tierney ’ – it surprised me."

To confirm Wilshere's revelation, Sports analysts STAT Sports announced on Twitter that Tierney's maximum speed is currently 37.51 kilometres per-hour.

Whilst this is a big deal for Tierney, some Arsenal fans have expressed concerns about what it means for Aubameyang.

The Gunners captain has been prolific ever since joining from Borussia Dortmund in the 2018 January transfer window and remains Arteta's most reliable goalscorer despite his struggles over the past 12 months.

However, there's a theory that he could be losing his special powers now that he's behind Tierney when it comes to Arsenal's quickest players.

Introduction of safe standing, the effects of Newcastle's takeover, the World Cup in Qatar - have your say on football's biggest issues in the survey below.

In fact, one supporter has tipped Aubameyang to bid farewell to the Emirates Stadium as early as next summer.

Although, it's safe to say that not all Arsenal fans are in agreement as others aren't reading too much into the results of the sprint test.

Take a look at what's been said on Twitter...

@afcjacobb said: "There are different kind of speeds I think Auba is still rapid but lost his explosiveness."

@CRJSAFC said: "Thought that was common knowledge lol Tierney is rapid up and down the wing."

@BenConnolly1987 said: "This doesn't mean Auba is declining, Jack was at the sprint test today so obviously Auba is rapid still just the fitness coach obviously knows all the players stats. KT is rapid as when he gets going."
