Arsenal Q&A - LIVE!
Our Arsenal correspondent Simon Collings is on hand to answer all your questions about the news that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been stripped of the Arsenal captaincy.
Aubameyang was dropped for Saturday’s 3-0 win over Southampton after returning late from a sanctioned trip abroad and Mikel Arteta has taken the armband off him as punishment for his latest disciplinary breach.
Arsenal have also confirmed that Aubameyang will not be selected for Wednesday’s match against West Ham, throwing his future at Emirates Stadium into doubt.
Arteta informed Aubameyang of his decision on Tuesday and said: "We have based the decision on certain moments where he has not fulfilled his duties."
Punctuality issues have dogged Aubameyang in the past and he was dropped to the bench for the north London derby against Tottenham in March for being late.
Alexandre Lacazette captained Arsenal against Southampton but his long-term future is unclear and Arteta is short of senior players capable of stepping up.
Kieran Tierney and Martin Odegaard may come into the reckoning but Arteta has confirmed the “leadership group” in the Arsenal squad will share the armband for the time being.
Arteta said Aubameyang “had to accept the decision” on a dramatic day at Emirates Stadium.
