Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sends message to Arsenal fans after shock Olympiacos loss

Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has taken to social media to send a message to fans after the Gunners crashed out of the Europa League against Olympiacos on Thursday night.

Arsenal took a one goal lead into the home leg of the round of 32 tie, but a second-half goal from Pape Abou Cisse took the match to extra time.

The Gunners thought that they had done enough to go through to the next stage when Aubameyang scored with an acrobatic effort in the 113th minute.

However, there was a sting in the tail, as with just one minute of time left to play Youssef El-Arabi took advantage of some slack defending to put Olympiacos through on away goals.

Arteta believes Aubameyang doesn't need titles to be considered world-class

Even after that goal, Aubameyang had another chance to be the hero again with virtually the last kick of the game, but saw his effort go wide.

In the day after the game, the Gunners skipper has taken to Instagram to send a message to fans.

"I Woke up This Morning praying as usual and i thanks God for what he gave me," he wrote

"An incredible Family and you Fans are part of it thanks for all the messages and the love i received since yesterday.

"Football is great Even if he gives you sometimes Strange emotions but i Take it as a lesson again and keep my head up Season’s Not over yet we’ll fight as a Team Till the end."

Arsenal don't have long too long to get over the disappointment as they are back in tournament action on Monday when they take on Portsmouth at Fratton Park.
