Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has penned a goodbye message to Mesut Ozil as the German nears a move to Fenerbache.
The German World Cup winner has agreed to a mutual termination of his contract in north London and is now closing in on a move to Turkey.
Ozil has already arrived in Istanbul and is now in the midst of a mandatory five-day quarantine before he can officially sign on as a player for his boyhood club.
While Ozil has not kicked a ball for Mikel Arteta's side this season, it is clear that he has made an impression behind the scenes as Aubameyang took the time to write a heart-felt message.
"Want to say thanks to you my bro and wish you all the best," the striker posted on Instagram.
"Don’t Need to Talk about how good you are on and off the pitch and how you take care of people. See you soon on fortnite Bro."
The Gunners' captain was not the first to share a goodbye to Ozil, as Shkodran Mustafi also wrote a note to his compatriot which read:
"Bro, you have been the most unselfish player on and off the pitch, I have ever shared the dressing room with.
"You will be always remembered as the #AssistKing. Unfortunately we as a team haven't been able to assist you when you needed us the most. All the best."
