Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's brother drops contract hint as striker closes in on new Arsenal deal

The future of striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is poised to dominate Arsenal's summer transfer plans.

The Gabon international, who joined the Gunners from German giants Borussia Dortmund back in 2018, is out-of-contract at the Emirates Stadium in less than a year's time, sparking fears amongst the club's supporters that he will leave Arsenal this summer to avoid the risk of being lost for free next summer.

However, reports in the national media last week claimed that Aubameyang was close to signing a new three-year deal at the Emirates Stadium.

Head coach Mikel Arteta has regularly reiterated his confidence that the 31-year-old will put pen to paper on a new deal this summer, despite the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Barcelona having been linked with a summer move for striker, who notched 29 goals during the 2019/20 campaign.

In recent weeks, Aubameyang has continued to tease Arsenal's supporters about his future, regularly dropping hints on social media that he is close to extending his Gunners stay.

Now, Aubameyang's brother - Willy - has added even more fuel to the fire as far as the Gunners star's future is concerned.

Willy Aubameyang did an Instagram Live on Monday, which soon attracted interest from the Arsenal fans, and one asked him to wink if Aubameyang had agreed to sign a new contract at the Emirates Stadium.

And much to the delight to Arsenal's supporters, Willy Aubameyang did exactly that in response to the demand.

As expected, Willy Aubameyang's actions brought a response from the Gunners supporters, who were most certainly given even more hope and belief that the striker will still be an Arsenal player come the start of next season.

Aubameyang once again proved just how important he is to the Gunners during the 2019/20 campaign, scoring 29 goals in all competitions, including a brace in last weekend's FA Cup final to secure the trophy for the 14th time in the club's history.
