Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's angry reaction to Joe Willock before Arsenal wonderkid was taken off

Joe Willock had a 45 minutes to forget in an Arsenal shirt.

The midfielder was given another start by interim head coach Freddie Ljungberg against Brighton and Hove Albion tonight, although he was taken off at half-time with the Gunners trailing 1-0.

Although, things could have been a whole lot different for the youngster.

Ljungberg on fixing Arsenal's defence

Not too long after the visitors had taken a deserved lead at the Emirates Stadium, Willock had a great chance to equalise.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang did extremely well on the right hand side and managed to dink a ball to the back post where Willock was making one of his trademark bursts into the penalty area.

He reached the ball first, but was denied by the feet of Mathew Ryan.

And it would appear that miss was playing on Willock's mind as moments later he failed to play in the Gunners captain with a simple pass to get the Gunners on the attack.

That was much to the anger of Aubameyang.

Football.london are at the Emirates Stadium for tonight's Premier League encounter and noticed the Gabon international screamed at Willock, such was his unhappiness with the pass.

That was to be one of Willock's final acts of the night as he was replaced by Nicolas Pepe at the break.

It's likely that Aubameyang's mood will have improved by now as the Gunners were back on level terms within five minutes of the restart.

Alexandre Lacazette's glancing header eventually dropped into the back of the net for his third goal in his last two appearances at the Emirates.

But it's eight games without a win across all competitions and the hosts really need a victory and thought they took the lead when David Luiz turned home Mesut Ozil's free-kick only for VAR to rule it out for offside.
