Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang said he and his representatives will soon speak to Arsenal about a possible new contract following his two goals in the Gunners' 4-0 win over Norwich.
Aubameyang scored his 50th and 51st Premier League goals for the club in the victory, and in doing so became the fastest Arsenal player to make it the half-century mark in the division.
With his current deal set to expire in June 2021, Gunners fans are desperate for the 31-year-old to put pen to paper and extend his stay at the Emirates.
Youngster Bukayo Saka signed a new deal with the club on Wednesday, and when asked by BT Sport whether he would soon be doing the same, Aubameyang gave a vague response.
"I'm really happy that Bukayo 'signed the thing'," the Gabonese striker said. "Now we will see. We will talk with the club and we're going to see what will happen.
"First of all I am focused on the games, so we will see."
In his post-match press conference manager Mikel Arteta was also asked about Aubameyang, but insisted it was down to the people above him to sort out the situation.
"The way he works every day he decided to get better," Arteta said. "Hopefully he's here for longer. He can see what we are trying to do and hopefully he can evolve.
"I leave that (the contract) to the football club. Auba knows really well my thoughts towards him, the project I want to create and that I want him in that.
"I am positive and I will remain positive but things have to progress."
Following the win against Norwich, in which Granit Xhaka and debutant Cedric Soares also got on the scoresheet, Arsenal have moved up to seventh in the table, and have a difficult run of fixtures coming up as they take on Wolves, Leicester, Tottenham and Liverpool in their next four games.
