Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang reacts to sharing Golden Boot with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang insisted he's happy to share the Golden Boot with Mo Salah and Sadio Mane.

The Arsenal striker took his tally to 22 in the league to end up joint top scorer, but came within inches of winning it outright.

The Gabon international has 31 in 50 games for the Gunners this season, his first full campaign since his £56m move in January last year.

He said: “I’m happy that we won and that I’m sharing the [Golden Boot] trophy with two other guys that I like.

“My team mates knew I was in contention. Me? I said nothing to the guys because I didn’t want them to only focus on me. I’m a team player and if I wasn’t scoring, it wouldn’t have mattered. But I scored and I’m really happy for that. I have to be thankful to the team.

Unai Emery makes Arsenal title admission following final day win at Burnley

“It was a tough season but I had the chance to score goals, because the team played a great season.

"Of course the last months were not the best in the Premier League, but the whole season, we put in a great effort.

“I was near (to a hat-trick) but sometimes that can happen.”

Burnley 1-3 Arsenal: 5 talking points as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang shares Golden Boot

Boss Emery says he will do everything possible to ensure Armenia skipper Henrikh Mkhitaryan can play in the Europa League final in Baku.

Arsenal say they won't take him to Azerbaijan because there are political tensions with Armenia and they want his safety guaranteed.

Emery said: “It is a political issue. We want to play with him. He works well. We will do all possible to play with everyone available for the team."

Emery also questioned why a final against fellow Londoners Chelsea is being played in Azerbaijan, with fans of each club only allocated 6,000 tickets.

He added: “The problem is for the supporters. I would prefer to play closer to England so we could move supporters to be with us.

“But I don't know how they decided to play there. There will only be 6k for us and Chelsea but the stadium has capacity for 70,000. I think it will be full but not with our supporters or Chelsea supporters.”
