Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang reacts on Instagram after scoring Arsenal hat-trick vs Leeds United

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang certainly had plenty of reasons to celebrate Arsenal's 4-2 win over Leeds United.

From a team's perspective, the Gunners have ended a run of three games without a win in the Premier League and are back in the top half of the table - two points behind bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

But on a personal level, Aubameyang marked his return to the Arsenal starting XI for the first time since the 3-0 win over Newcastle United in stunning fashion.

Three of the four goals against Leeds were scored by the 31-year-old and he has now overtaken Alexandre Lacazette as the club's leading scorer across all competitions with 11.

Surprisingly, perhaps given his record in front of goal, it was the first time Aubameyang has scored a hat-trick in the Premier League since joining from Borussia Dortmund three years ago.

The striker's only previous Arsenal treble came in the Europa League semi-final second leg win over Valencia in the 2018/2019 season.

As a result, Aubameyang has been in the mood to celebrate.

Taking to social media after the Leeds game, the Gunners captain shared messages from the likes of Ian Wright and Gabriel Magalhaes on to his Instagram Stories.

But the best reaction was of him dancing with the match ball in hand.

As expected, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta heaped praise on the hat-trick hero during his post-match press conference.

"Yes, I thought he was superb today," the Spaniard said. "He’s been training really good the last week or so. He was back to normal he looked really committed in training, really hungry.

"And I think today that he had a great performance. Not only for the goals but as well for the way he worked without the ball, the amount of pressure that he put on every Leeds defender.

"He set the tone for the team up top. I’m delighted for him and he deserves it.

"We know that a big part of our future success is related to Auba being at his best and scoring as many goals as possible. If he’s at that type of form we’re gonna be closer to winning football matches that’s clear.

"We cannot just rely on him but he’s a big piece of our puzzle. You saw today again that when he’s firing, he’s a very difficult player to play against."
