Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang makes league title vow ahead of Liverpool vs Arsenal

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang says Arsenal are determined to "match the big guns" this season ahead of next weekend's trip to Liverpool .

The Gabonese forward has scored the winning goal in both of the Gunners' games so far this season, netting the solitary strike in a 1-0 at Newcastle United and following that up with the decisive goal as Burnley were beaten 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Ahead of Manchester United going to Wolves on Monday, the only other side with two wins from two games so far this season are Liverpool, who host the Gunners in a mouthwatering clash at Anfield on Saturday evening.

And Aubameyang insists his side side are ready for the challenge on Merseyside.

"I think as I said earlier we have made good signings, that will help us," he told Canal+, via the Metro , after the Burnley game.

"Last season, we were not far away from qualifying for the Champions’ League.

"Whatever happens, that is the most important thing, the most important aim for us. To be back in the Champions’ League.

"Aside from that, to fight for the title, we know very well that the big guns are ready but we are also ready and in any case we are going to give our all to match the big guns if possible."

Aubameyang's strike partner Alexandre Lacazette opened the scoring against the Clarets, and he indicated his desire to keep on improving to try and nail down a place in the France squad.

"The Premier League has seen a very good Lacazette, but not yet the best Lacazette," He told the same outlet.

"I need to score more goals I know, I need to be more consistent and consistent throughout matches.

"I can do better. I am continuing to work, the national team coach makes his decisions.

"I am trying to put in the work. There you have it. I am still (motivated for it)."
