Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has set teammate Nicolas Pepe a challenge ahead of Arsenal's Premier League clash with Southampton this evening.
Pepe returns to contention for the first time in three league games this evening after serving a three-game suspension following his red card against Leeds United.
The Ivorian has played for the Gunners in the meantime, turning out in Europa League fixtures, helping his side round off the perfect group stage campaign with six wins from as many games.
But tonight he could return to the Premier League side for the first time as Arsenal look to begin trending in the right direction, following a poor start to the season, against a Southampton side who have impressed so far this term.
Ahead of the clash at the Emirates Stadium, Gunners forward Aubameyang has spoken about Pepe's return and what the winger needs to do to start impressing having failed to make a real impression following his £72 million transfer last year.
"We've got Pepe back from suspension tonight and we're pleased to see him back because he's been doing well in the Europe League while he has been out in the Premier League," Aubameyang said int he club's match programme.
"Myself and Laca (Alexandre Lcazette) are always with him at the training ground and we always support each other and try to help each other out. We often talk to each other about how we can do better and what we can improve.
"But I know Nico is a fantastic player. I think he just needs to find the right way to be consistent in these games. And that's it, really, that's all he needs, but for sure with time he's going to show to everyone he's the type of player that we are waiting to see.
"He needs confidence, he's a guy who needs that of course, but I think every player needs confidence, to be honest.
"We are all human beings and of course you need confidence even if you are strong in your mind.
"Everyone needs confidence and we try to give it to him, for him to feel comfortable in the team. I hope he can make a difference now his suspension is over."
