Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in coin toss blunder before Arsenal vs Eintracht Frankfurt

Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang suffered a blunder ahead of the Europa League clash with Eintracht Frankfurt.

Aubameyang again led the Gunners out for their penultimate group stage clash at the Emirates on Thursday night.

The Gabon striker was made skipper after Granit Xhaka, who made his return to the side against Frankfurt, was stripped off the armband.

And the honour is still clearly new to Aubameyang after he went missing before kick-off at the Emirates.

But Aubameyang was nowhere to be seen as BT Sport cameras showed the striker near the centre circle.

He eventually made his way over to the officials as they laughed off the gaffe.

It is not the first time a Premier League star has made the mistake, with Harry Maguire doing the same when he captained Manchester United against Partizan Belgrade last month.

Meanwhile, Aubameyang is reportedly refusing to hold talks over a new contract due to uncertainty over Unai Emery's future.

Emery finds himself under increasing pressure after a poor start to the season, with his side well adrift of the top four.

Arsenal have pressed on with negotiations to extend Aubameyang's contract, which has another two years remaining.

But the striker is not willing to extend the deal while the uncertainty remains over the manager's job.
