Pierre Emerick Aubameyang in Arsenal 'disciplinary' sweat as skipper binned for Spurs clash

Striker Pierre-: Aubameyang has been benched by Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta for "disciplinary" reasons.

The Gunners are set to face Tottenham in the North London Derby but we will be without their top scorer in the XI.

Mikel Arteta has left out the 14-goal hitman at the Emirates for "disciplinary" reasons, according to Sky Sports.

Alexandre Lacazette is preferred in the attack in the Premier League clash.

The Gabon international penned a bumper new deal with the London giants in September last year.

The 31-year-old was linked with an exit from the Emirates after entering the final year of his deal but was snapped up on an extension.

However, he has struggled for form since agreeing to stay with Arteta's side.

"He was going to start the game but we had a disciplinary issue. We have drawn the line and we move on. He's on the bench.

When asked if there was anything he could add, he said: "No. Obviously we keep that internally. We have our process that we have to respect every game and that's it."

When pushed by Sky on if he had considered leaving him out of the squad entirely, Arteta added: "It's a decision we made after evaluating everything, what he's done and that's it."

Former Celtic defender Kieran Tierney is handed a start against Spurs today.
