However, he has struggled for form since agreeing to stay with Arteta's side.

"He was going to start the game but we had a disciplinary issue. We have drawn the line and we move on. He's on the bench.
When asked if there was anything he could add, he said: "No. Obviously we keep that internally. We have our process that we have to respect every game and that's it."
When pushed by Sky on if he had considered leaving him out of the squad entirely, Arteta added: "It's a decision we made after evaluating everything, what he's done and that's it."
