Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has matched Thierry Henry after Arsenal's 1-1 draw with Leicester

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has followed in the footsteps of Thierry Henry by scoring 20 Premier League goals in successive seasons.

The Gunners looked on course for a fifth successive victory to maintain their own outside chance of a place in Europe's elite competition next season before Jamie Vardy struck.

Vardy's late equaliser gave Leicester City a vital point to keep their Champions League hopes on track.

But it was during the first half where Aubameyang wrote his name into the Arsenal record books.

Bukayo Saka pulled the ball back into the path of the Gabon international, who swept in his 20th league goal of the season.

Henry achieved the feat for the Gunners in five consecutive seasons between 2001-02 and 2006-07.

Just last week Aubameyang became the fastest-ever player in the club's history to hit 50 Premier League goals.

His form has led to more calls for him to pen a new deal with the club, having entered the final 12 months of his current agreement.

And just a couple of days ago, he gave the biggest indication yet that he is ready to commit his long-term future to the club.

Joining his half-brother, Willy, for an Instagram live Q&A session, he was asked to "blink" if he had any intention of staying with Arsenal.

Seconds later, Aubameyang could be seen blinking profusely while laughing on camera whilst reading more comments left by fans.
