Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang says that Arsenal are already feeling the benefit of Mikel Arteta's shake-up at the Emirates Stadium.
Former Manchester City assistant Arteta was appointed head coach nine days ago and took charge of his first game on Boxing Day. Though the result was a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth there were signs of improvement in Arsenal's performance.
Those have also been reflected on the training ground with Arsenal players impressed with the shake-up at London Colney.
"We need to make sure, all of us, players and fans, that he has a successful home debut," Aubameyang wrote in his programme notes. "He's only been in charge for a few days but we've seen a bit difference already.
"We needed someone who would come in and shake the whole squad up. Someone with new ideas, with a new message and someone who would take us in a different direction. Mikel has brought all of that.
"We needed a fresh new start and something different and we can feel it already.
"He is very rigorous and demanding on the training pitch. It's all about details with him so he talks a lot, repositions us, explains a lot of little things."
Aubameyang scored Arsenal's equaliser at the Vitality Stadium in a match where better finishing from his team-mates might well have won the game for the Gunners.
"We saw against Bournemouth that the game plan was clear," Aubameyang added. "We dominated them, we had a lot of the ball and we created enough chances to win the match.
"We were disappointed by the final result but so positive and optimistic after that performance."
