Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang details what Mikel Arteta has already changed at Arsenal

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has explained how Mikel Arteta has managed to change Arsenal's structure since arriving at the Emirates.

Spaniard Arteta has only been in charge of the Gunners for nine days but his only appearance in the Arsenal dugout, during a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth , saw a noticeable improvement on the pitch.

One of the major changes seemed to be in the midfield and defensive structure of the side, and revealed afterwards that: "We must have play sustained behind them [the attackers], to tie everything together."

Arteta has his first home test against Chelsea on Sunday and striker Aubameyang has detailed the alterations the former Gunners midfielder has already got through to his players.

Aubameyang wrote in the programme for the Blues clash: "In just in a few days, Mikel implemented some of the ideas he has and I felt it work, well against Bournemouth even if we only got a point.

"There was a real structure on the pitch but also some freedom within that structure. We have worked hard since Mikel took over to play in the style he wants us to play in.

"I didn't know Mikel personally before he came back to the club. I had seen him play when he was at PSG a long time ago. Then, I played against him when I was at Dortmund and he was still playing for Arsenal.

"But as a manager, the only perception I had was of him as an assistant and deputising for Pep Guardiola when he was suspended.

"He has spent three and a half years alongside one of the best managers in the world so I knew that he would be full of ideas and that he would have an impact straight away.

"He learned a lot from Pep and learned well too. It is obvious to see in his principles and his style, although the formation we played in was different from Man City's 4-3-3."
