Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang breaks silence after Arsenal's defeat to Tottenham

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has broken his silence following Arsenal's north London derby defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Gunners fell to a 2-0 defeat to their biggest rivals on Sunday, continuing their disappointing start to their Premier League campaign.

Arsenal are now in 15th with just 13 points from 11 games, eight points off the pace of the top four and without a win in their last four Premier League outings.

Criticism for Mikel Arteta and his stars is rife following their well under-par start and frontman Aubameyang is one of the players taking more flack than most.

Since signing a new contract in the summer, the Gabon international has scored just two Premier League goals and that scoring record has left many fans unhappy.

But the frontman is vowing to put things right having broken his silence following the Gunners' latest defeat to Tottenham.

Aubameyamng posted an image of himself in training on Instagram with the caption: "Don’t hide, Everyday question yourself, work, Never give up!! this is how we do!"

Arsenal fans will be pleased to see their star striker remaining desperate to improve following his tough start to the season, particularly given the criticism he has received.

Gunners legend Paul Merson last week labelled him 'atrocious', saying in his Daily Star column: "Arteta is struggling because his go-to players haven’t turned up this season and that is a big, big problem.

“Willian has not got going at all, and is having a real nightmare. And Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been atrocious.

“What does he bring to the party? Absolutely nothing at the moment. You need big performances from your big players when things aren’t going well. Arsenal aren’t getting that. That’s a dangerous thing.

“Has Aubameyang relaxed too much after signing his contract? Only he can answer that. But he’s not earning his money.”
