Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang appears to drop Arsenal contract hint while training

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has sparked excitement among Arsenal fans after he was pictured appearing to gesture signing a new contract.

Aubameyang is out of contract at Arsenal in the summer of 2021, and is yet to confirm whether he'll pen a new deal.

Should the Gunners fail to tie him down to new terms soon they may be required to sell him this summer to ensure they receive a transfer fee for him.

Aubameyang has kept his cards close to his chest in regards to what he plans to do in the coming months, as Barcelona and Inter Milan monitor the situation.

Gunners manager Mikel Arteta has also admitted he doesn't know whether the 31-year-old striker will sign a new contract.

But some Arsenal fans certainly think Aubameyang is veering towards penning an extension after he appeared to gesture doing exactly that in training.

Posting the above picture to Twitter, one fan wrote: "Don't tease us Aubameyang," while another asked: "Did you sign four more years?"

Alexandre Lacazette recently spoke out on his Arsenal team-mate, but he too admitted he is in the dark over what Aubameyang plans to do.

"He is already one of the legends [at Arsenal] because of the amount of goals he's scored in so few games," Lacazette told beIN Sports.

"But to be honest, we stopped talking about this [his future] because at the beginning it can be funny.

"But long term you can start to be annoying because you want something that is not maybe the way we'd like and I don't want to be the guy being a bit annoying [by keep asking the same questions].

"So we don't really speak about his future. I'm just going to wait like everyone else. And I just hope he's going tell me before the press."
