Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette doubts for Arsenal vs Chelsea FC, says Mikel Arteta

Mikel Arteta is unsure whether Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be back for Arsenal’s crunch clash with Chelsea next week.

The pair missed Friday’s Premier League opener at Brentford due to illness, and the Gunners slumped to a 2-0 defeat without them.

Arsenal now face a huge game against Chelsea next week against Chelsea at Emirates Stadium, which is set to be Romelu Lukaku’s first game since rejoining the Blues.

But Arteta is unsure if he will have his star strikers back for the derby game.

“I don’t know [if they'll be available for the next game],” he told the BBC. “What I can control and help, I’ll put all my enthusiasm and work into that.

“I can’t change that. We knew that before the game [they could not play against Brentford].

“I’m disappointed. We started the season against a good opponent.

“I don’t think we deserved anything different. They scored from a long throw-in and we didn’t have enough presence in the box.”
