Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang says Arsenal are now "literally giving goals to the opposition" after they managed to snatch a 2-2 draw from the jaws of victory at Watford on Sunday.
The forward's first-half brace at Vicarage Road put the Gunners in total control of the Premier League clash, with the 30-year-old's second strike coming after a wonderful team move.
But the visitors then capitulated in the second half to allow the Hornets, in their first game of Quique Sanchez Flores' second spell in charge, back into the match.
First a dreadful error from defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos following a short goal kick led to Tom Cleverley firing home, and then David Luiz clumsily tripped Roberto Pereyra in the box, with the Argentinean scoring the resulting penalty.
Watford then could have won the game as Gerard Deulofeu and Abdoulaye Doucoure both came close late on, as Aubameyang was left exasperated.
“Obviously we didn’t expect that [the comeback],” the Gabonese forward Canal Plus .
“We knew that they were going to try and come back with good intentions, of the kind they demonstrated in the second half.
“Sadly, we were not able to deal with them well. I feel like we are literally giving goals to the opposition, it is up to us to progress in that respect.”
Despite being highly critical of the defence as a whole, Aubayemang stopped short of calling out Sokratis and Luiz for their errors.
Instead the former Borussia Dortmund star insisted that things might have been different had forward Alexandre Lacazette - who is out until next month with an ankle injury - been available.
“I don’t want to accuse anyone, you could say that us the attackers could have killed the game off and score a third goal, so I am not going to say it is someone’s fault," he said.
“It is a shame to concede goals like we did… I think it [Lacazette’s absence] affects us.
“We know very well that he brings us so much in these sorts of games.”
