Piero Hincapie 'wanted' for Celtic transfer as Copa America breakout star has Bayern Munich and AC Milan options

Copa America breakout star Piero Hincapie is reportedly a target for Celtic but they face some serious competition for his signature.

The 19-year-old is an Ecuador international and currently turns out for Argentine top flight team Talleres de Cordoba.

Hincapie has played all three of his team's matches in the Copa America so far and has impressed with his performances.

According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Celtic have been keeping a keen eye on his progress.

They face some serious competition though, with many of Europe's biggest clubs said to be keeping tabs on Hincapie.

Spanish champions Atletico Madrid are believed to be interested, along with Real Betis.

Across the continent Newcastle United, Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Lens and Roma are all keen on the youngster.

A left-footed centre-back, Hincapie is under contract until 2025.

Talleres de Cordoba are said to have set his price at around £8.6million.

In addition they own only 50 per cent of his registration and any suitor would have to do a deal for 100 per cent.
