Pierce Brosnan, known for his portrayal of James Bond in four films, has suggested that Irish actor Cillian Murphy would be a great fit for the iconic role. Brosnan, 70, expressed his confidence in Murphy, 47, potentially taking on the character during the Oscar Wilde Awards ceremony.

However, Murphy himself seems hesitant about stepping into the shoes of the famous spy, citing his age as a factor. Despite this, Brosnan's admiration for Murphy's talent remains evident.

During the event, Brosnan was accompanied by his wife, Keely Shaye Brosnan, as he reflected on his acting career spanning several decades. He shared anecdotes about his journey to America and his breakthrough role as Remington Steele.

Before his Bond debut in 'GoldenEye' in 1995, Brosnan appeared in various TV shows and movies, including the popular film 'Mrs. Doubtfire.' His portrayal of the suave secret agent in subsequent Bond films solidified his place in cinematic history.

After his tenure as Bond, Brosnan passed the torch to Daniel Craig, who portrayed the character in five films. Speculation about the next actor to take on the role has been ongoing, with names like Idris Elba, Henry Cavill, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson being floated as potential successors.

Despite the Bond-related discussions, Murphy praised Brosnan as a 'lovely man' and expressed his admiration for the actor's work on 'Remington Steele.' While Brosnan has not offered Murphy any specific advice, the two actors have engaged in friendly conversations.
