Pierce Brosnan has shared a touching tribute to his daughter Charlotte on the anniversary of her death.
The 67-year-old’s daughter sadly passed away aged just 42 in 2013, after a battle with ovarian cancer.
Taking to Instagram, Pierce shared a photo of himself relaxing on his porch from his Hawaii home, alongside the sweet message to his late daughter.
Pierce also wished happy birthday to his granddaughter Marley May, who turned five this month.
He said: “Here’s looking at you kid, in remembrance of Charlotte and with happy birthday wishes for my darling Marley May.”
The James Bond star became Charlotte and her brother Chris’ adoptive father when he married his first wife Cassandra in 1980, after their father, Dermot Harris passed away in 1986.
Pierce tragically lost both Charlotte and his first wife to the same disease, with Cassandra Harris also sadly passing away after a battle with ovarian cancer in 1991 aged 43.
The couple had been married for 11 years.
They also had a son, Sean, 36, dad to little Marley May - whose middle name is Cassandra in tribute to her late grandmother.
Opening up about Charlotte and Cassandra’s tragic deaths in 2014 at the Stand Up To Cancer telethon, Pierce spoke of how he learned to cope with the sorrow of watching his loved ones in their final moments of life.
He said: “To watch someone you love have his or her life eaten away bit by bit by this insidious disease, that kind of sorrow becomes an indelible part of your psyche.
“I held the generous, strong, beautiful hand of my first wife Cassie as ovarian cancer took her life much too soon.’
“And just last year (2013), I held the hand of my funny, wonderful daughter Charlotte before she too died from this wretched, inherited disease.”
Following Cassandra’s sad death, Pierce married his current wife Keely Shaye Smith.
The couple tied the knot in 2001 and have two sons together – Dylan and Paris.
