One of the most exciting days in the racing calendar - Ladies Day at the Grand National - is now over and it's been an absolute blast.

always attracts runners from National Hunt yards from both the UK and Ireland.

But it's not all about the horses today, it's also a chance for the men and women on Merseyside to get dressed-up and put on a glamorous display.

And despite a chill wind, racegoers looked glamorous as they set for good day out.

Taking place ahead of Saturday's Grand National , Ladies Day attracts up to 50,000 people.

However, in recent years, one thing that has blighted the Grand National is the negative press coverage our girls and guys have been subjected to, from some sections of the media, including the Daily Mail .

But we know our girls have class and have some fabulous pictures from today to prove it.
