Pictures show the scene of crash involving police car and lorry on the M1

A police car and a lorry were involved in a crash on the M1 during rush hour on Monday, March 25.

The two vehicles were travelling on the southbound direction near Mansfield, between junction 28 and 29.

Pictures of the incident have been released from a motorway camera on the M1.

Officers have confirmed it was a Derbyshire Police car.

Two lanes of the M1 were closed while the incident was cleared, and the road is now open with no delays.

A Derbyshire Police spokesman added: "We attended a collision between a police car and HGV on the M1 this morning at just after 9am.

"It happened on the southbound stretch between junctions 29 and 28.

"There were no injuries."
