Pictures show the 140 animals seized by DSPCA in huge Dublin pet farm operation

Over 140 animals have been fostered and adopted by members of the public after the DSPCA pleaded for emergency donations.

The DSPCA expressed how grateful they are to anyone who offered foster homes and houses for them.

Last week, the animals were surrendered from a North Dublin petting farm after concerns were raised for the animals' welfare.

The DSPCA and Gardai seized the animals and brought them to their shelter in Rathfarnham over a two-day period after initially being called out to the site.

31 dogs, 46 rabbits 9 guinea pigs, 6 geese, 37 chickens, 9 pigeons, 6 goats, 2 ponies and their foals and a heavily pregnant donkey were among the pets rescued.

Since the rescue, the adorable animals have been well looked after with many going to new loving homes.

The DSPCA said in a Facebook post: “Thank you to each and every person who donated to our emergency appeal to help us care for the 140+ animals that we rescued last week.

“It has been a huge challenge for all the staff and we have been working hard making sure that all of the animals are receiving the care and love they deserve.

“We are extremely grateful to everyone who offered foster homes and homes for them.

“We have been busy answering the hundreds of calls, emails and social media messages and are still working our way through them.

“Homes have been lined up for lots of birds, goats, geese, hamsters, rabbits and for all of the dogs.”

Most of the dogs seized were female and many were nursing puppies, as were many of the rabbits.

All of the dogs had matted coats, which were shaved clean by the groomers.
