Pictures show police in Leith busy removing un-taxed vehicles from the streets

Police in Leith have been busy removing un-taxed vehicles from the streets as part of a day of action with the DVLA.

Pictures posted on social media by Edinburgh Police North East show cars being taken away from various streets while others are clamped.

So it's fair to say that anyone who failed to tax their vehicle could have been in for a Halloween horror show.

They say the day of action came after complaints from members of the Leith community.

They tweeted: "Leith Community Cops responding to community complaints, have been working with DVLA colleagues in the Leith area (today) targeting untaxed vehicles. A number of vehicles have been removed or claimped. @DVLAgovuk has more info on staying the right side of the law."
