Pictures show moment £2m 'cannabis factory farm' uncovered in Glasgow

Police and utility company staff uncovered the industrial scale of a massive £2m cannabis factory farm.

Officers joined forces with Scottish Power Energy Networks staff to secure the site at an industrial unit in the Milton area of Glasgow.

Our pictures show police and workers at the scene which was littered with full black bin bags. It is not know if the bags contained cannabis.

The industrial scale drugs operation was uncovered at an industrial unit in the Milton area of Glasgow.

Officers acting on intelligence searched an industrial premises on Strathmore Road on Monday morning.

Cannabis plants with an estimated street value of £2m were discovered. Two men, aged 26 and 27, were arrested and charged.

They are expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on November 3.

Detective Chief Inspector John Morrison from Police Scotland’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit said: “We are committed to targeting the illegal supply of drugs in our communities and any information we receive will be taken seriously and acted upon.

“This was a cultivation in what can only be described as on an industrial scale and it is hoped that this seizure will have a serious impact on those who make it their business to deal in this despicable trade.”

A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
