Pictures show inside new 83-bed care home built on former pub site

Pictures from inside a brand new 83-bed care home which features its own cinema room have been released.

Developed on a site once occupied by the Clifton Bridge Inn pub, at the intersection of the A52 and A453 in Silverdale, the care home has created around 50 jobs.

Offering 83 bedrooms each with en-suite wet rooms, Wilford View provides communal lounge areas along with an additional quiet lounge on each floor, separate dining rooms, a reception with a café area, cinema room, hairdressing salon and several treatment rooms.

To the back of the development is a large patio area with a sun terrace.

Clifton and Silverdale residents praised the new care home, saying it was "state-of-the-art".

Molly Andrews, 38, a mum-of-two from Clifton, said: "It looks really nice. It has replaced a piece of history in the Clifton Bridge pub but I think it looks great and will hopefully be well-used.

"It's been good seeing it developed a little bit more each time I drive past it."

Gary Parker, 55, of Silverdale, who works in construction, added: "It sounds state-of-the-art. I like the fact it's created jobs too.

"There's a lot of options for people living there. I wouldn't mind living there myself if they've got a cinema."

Emily Bell, 26, of Clifton, said: "It looks really lovely. I hope it does well. I work for a care agency so might look at applying for a job where it would be more permanent location-wise."

The care home was constructed by a firm called Wynbrook and was completed in November.

Steve Day, construction director for Wynbrook, said: “It was a pleasure to work for Medina again on this development.

"It contains their highest standard of internal fit-out and is now their Flagship Care Home and the best care home facility in the local area.”

Project architect for Rayner Davies, Julien McGuinness, added: “We were delighted to be asked to design another care home for Medina.

"This one was not without its challenges, but the result is we think a credit to everyone that was involved.”
