Pictures show firefighters tackling farm fire in North Somerset

Pictures have captured firefighters tackling a farm fire in North Somerset.

Fire crews from Weston-super-Mare, Bedminster and Winscombe were all called to a farm in Puxton Lane yesterday afternoon (May 16).

On arrival, they found two sheds on fire and extinguished the blaze after three hours on the scene.

On Twitter, Winscombe fire station thanked members of the public who supplied fire crews with refreshments.

The post read: "At 12:30 today our #HerosInHeadsets at control mobilised us to a Barn Fire in Puxton.

"We attended this with @AFRSWeston & @AFRSBedminster. Thanks to the local residents who supplied crews with refreshments."

A spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue added that the cause of the fire is still unknown.

She said: "Crews from Winscombe, Weston and Bedminster attended at 12.30pm after receiving reports of two sheds on fire.

"They were on the scene for around three hours and used four jets to extinguish the blaze.

"The cause of the fire is being investigated."
