Pictures show extent of damage caused to Bristol house by fire

Firefighters were called to a fire at a house in Coombe Dingle earlier this morning (July 26).

Crews from Southmead and Avonmouth fire station attended the incident and shared pictures of the extent of the damage.

On the station's twitter account, firefighters said the occupants were safely out of the building before crews arrived on the scene.

Shortly before 11am, the station tweeted: "Busy start for us and Avonmouth this morning as we attended a house fire in Coombe Dingle.

"Fortunately, the occupants were safely out of the building before we arrived.

"Yet another example of the importance of early warning systems such as smoke alarms.”

One picture show the ceilings and the floors completely black and covered in ash.

Meanwhile another photo shows some of the damage caused to one of the rooms in the house. The door is also covered in black ash.
